The project comprises of two phases; Restoration & Addition. The approach investigates storytelling and play as a means for repurposing the resources of our past, exploring layered visions, and new possibilities for integrating a new creative addition. It stands as a cultural space where available resources, at-hand beauty, and diverse visitors actively engage past, present, and future.

يهدف التصميم لإعادة إحياء مبنى تقليدي نجدي عن طريق إعادة تهيئة مبنى قائم قديم من الطين وإضافة كتلة حديثة بحيث يكون هناك دمج مابين الجزئين من الفترات المختلفة. يعرض التوجه المعماري نمط للمحافظة على التراث الموجود مع تأهيلها للمتطلبات الحديثة وإضافة عناصر حديثة مجاورة ليضم المكان نشاطات متنوعة لتفعيله في برامج ثقافية وفنية, منها معرض ونزل وورش فنية في الجزء الحديث, ويتكون الجزء الطيني من مقهى ومكتبة في الفراغ الرئيسي, وتتوزع على جوانب الفناء الداخلي استديوهات ومتاجر فنية

Almasar Mosque

The mosque was designed with the purpose to resurrect the purity of the architectural characteristics of Najdi mosque architecture while expressing a great deal of its contemporary culture In observation of the existing site, the excavation work invoked the idea of repurposing the material into the construction of the building to preserve the memory of the place.

By building partnerships with arts and culture organizations, events and uses to activate the parks. The area needs a more accessible park that offers opportunities for various activities & transit access.

توجه التصميم يبدأ باعتبار التكوين الطبيعي الموجود في حديقة جبل أبو مخروق. من خلال تقديم الأشجار والنباتات الأصيلة لمنطقة الحديقة، سينتشر التنوع في الغطاء النباتي. يحث ذلك على المحافظة على المياه وتطوير الاستدامة الطبيعية بذات الوقت. المقترح يبحث أيضا في تنوع النشاطات التي تعكس المجتمع والهوية الثقافية للرياض, بالإضافة الى توفير احتياجات المجتمع و المنطقة المجاورة

Um Slaim Lab

The research lab is situated between the Almurabba area and Alfutah neighbourhood, which are connected to the remaining vernacular spine in Aldirah and Um Slaim. The space used to be a cafeteria two years ago and has been vacant ever since due to the pre-gentrification of the surrounding are. The space retains its current character but has undergone an interior refurbishment.

Behind an unassuming facade, the house opens up to reveal a pared-back modern design mixed with simple materials and practical detailing. Situaded on a 20m x 30m site with minimal street presence, the Courtyard house is lodged between two large double story residences. Despite sitting boundary to boundary, the house is flooded with natural light.
