syn architects is a Riyadh based architecture practice. Founded by Saudi architects Sara Alissa & Nojoud Alsudairi, the practice focuses on ecologically sensitive architectural design that derives its aesthetics from a contextual awareness of nature and expresses the essence of the materials from where they are found.

We seek to inspire our clients and the community at large, through innovative design that adds to the collective urban environment. We strive to challenge the architectural process by finding alternative approaches to creating environments that are mixed, inclusive and accessible, where different people can get together. We approach our projects with sensitivity and attention to materiality, while designing adaptive and contextual solutions to facilitate better user experiences. 

In addition to syn, they have established the Um Slaim collective, a critical investigation of the displacement of vernacular Najdi architecture in the area of central Riyadh. They are also the co-founders of saudirchitecture.org, an independent organization that aims to research and archive modernist and post-modernist buildings in Saudi Arabia.
